Job summary

Compass Group USA is seeking a General Manager to lead the dining service operation with emphasis on exceptional guest service and cost control. You will direct overall operations and ensure financial performance while maintaining compliance and high standards.

The role requires strong leadership, experience in corporate dining, and the ability to manage multiple sites and teams. This is a full-time, on-site position with rotating shifts and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in corporate dining, VIP clubs, fine dining, or country clubs preferred.
• 5+ years of foodservice management experience preferred, flexible with formal degree or training.
• Good knowledge of food and catering trends, quality, production, sanitation and cost controls.
• P&L accountability and contract-managed service experience desirable.
• Supervisory, leadership, management and coaching skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate with management, customers and associates at various levels.
• Knowledge of budgeting, accounting and computational practices.
• Proficient in MS Office, email and internet.
• Open availability for days, nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Oversee overall operation and cost-effective management of the dining service department.
• Ensure achievement of financial goals and targets.
• Own the operation and meet all timelines for service and client expectations.
• Manage all financials including planning, budgeting and reporting.
• Engage with a diverse group of associates, peers, managers, suppliers and clients.
• Demonstrate initiative and sound judgement in assisting customers and staff.
• Conduct management meetings and drive performance.
• Audit units for compliance with standards and codes.
• Hire, train and orient new management staff.
