Job summary

Compass Group USA is looking for a seasoned General Manager to oversee multiple foodservice operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, operational excellence, and strong financial performance across cafés, retail dining, and catering programs.

Working with district and culinary leadership, you will shape the guest experience through innovative menus, best practices, and a culture of collaboration, inclusion, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience leading foodservice, hospitality, retail dining, catering, or multi-unit operations.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, financial performance, and operational metrics.
• Experience overseeing high-volume food production and catering programs.
• Strong relationship-building skills with clients, guests, and teams.
• Ability to lead, motivate, and develop diverse teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with workforce planning, scheduling, payroll administration, and talent management.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills with changing business needs.
• Excellent communication and collaborative leadership style.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations across multiple foodservice locations and programs.
• Manage financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, cost controls, and P&L.
• Develop and support high-performing teams through coaching and training.
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding, performance conversations, and employee relations.
• Ensure appropriate staffing levels through scheduling and payroll management.
• Build strong relationships with clients, guests, and internal partners.
• Collaborate with culinary leaders to develop menus and enhance quality.
• Monitor operational metrics and drive continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with food safety standards and company policies.
• Support new culinary, retail, marketing, and guest engagement programs.
• Champion inclusion, safety, accountability, and teamwork.
• Respond proactively to operational challenges while maintaining guest experience.

Education

Hospitality, Culinary Arts, Business, or related degree
