Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps is seeking an entry-level Student Success Coach and Mentor to support students across elementary, middle, and high school. You will coach, mentor, and monitor progress, collaborating with teachers to enhance classroom instruction and student outcomes.

The role includes 2–4 weeks of initial training, with ongoing teamwork alongside school staff and partner teachers to drive academic growth and positive behaviors.

Qualifications

• Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
• Be 17–25 by July 1, 2025.
• Have a GED or high school diploma, some college experience, or college degree.
• Be able to begin City Year by July/August 2025 (start date varies by location).

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress and attendance.
• Collaborate with teachers on classroom instruction and student support.
• Support extended day and after-school programs; enrichment and intervention.
• Develop literacy and/or math skills through varied activities.
• Create engaging, safe, and healthy classroom spaces with teachers.
