Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps is seeking an entry-level Student Success Coach and Mentor to support students across elementary, middle and high school. You will coach and mentor students to improve academics, attendance, and behavior, while partnering with teachers on classroom activities.

No prior experience required; 2–4 weeks of training are provided. You will work with teachers and school staff to monitor progress and contribute to a positive, engaging learning environment.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; 2–4 weeks of training at the beginning of the year to support you.
• Ability to coach and mentor elementary, middle and/or high school students.
• Willingness to work with partner teachers and school staff throughout the year.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups
• Develop literacy and/or math skills through varied activities
• Create and implement behavior management and positive classroom routines
• Collaborate with teachers to track student progress and participate in reviews
