Job summary

City Year is seeking an entry-level Student Success Coach and Mentor to support students across elementary to high school. As a City Year AmeriCorps member, you will coach and mentor students to improve academics, attendance, and behavior, while collaborating with teachers on classroom activities and school-wide programs.

Training is provided at the start of the year, with ongoing support from partner teachers and staff.

Qualifications

• Experience coaching and mentoring students is a plus but not required.
• You will receive 2–4 weeks of training at the start of the year.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups to support academic success and attendance.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress and work with teachers on in-class instruction.
• Create engaging, safe classroom spaces in collaboration with teachers.
• Support school-wide initiatives and after-school programs for student engagement.
