Job summary

City Year is seeking an entry-level AmeriCorps member to coach and mentor students across elementary to high school levels. You will support academic achievement, improve attendance, and foster positive behaviors by planning progress and collaborating with teachers and staff.

AmeriCorps members receive initial training, a living stipend, health benefits, relocation support, and education award opportunities through AmeriCorps. Start dates vary by location, around July/August 2025.

Qualifications

• Must have or be working toward a high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to mentor diverse students and build positive relationships.
• Willingness to participate in AmeriCorps training and service requirements.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Support literacy and math growth with varied activities.
• Collaborate with teachers to monitor student progress and behavior.
