Job summary

City Year is seeking an entry-level AmeriCorps Member to coach and mentor students across elementary to high school levels. You will support academic success, improve attendance, and foster positive behaviors within classrooms and schools.

Training is provided; you will partner with teachers and staff to monitor progress, participate in reviews, and contribute to school-wide initiatives. This paid, full-time role begins in summer 2025.

Qualifications

• Must be 17–25 by July 1, 2025.
• Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident (DACA status not eligible).
• Be able to begin City Year by July/August 2025 (location varies).

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor elementary, middle and/or high school students, 1:1 and in small groups.
• Help students earn academic success, improve attendance and develop positive behaviors.
• Plan and monitor individual progress; collaborate with teachers on class instruction and in-class student support.
• Create engaging, safe, and healthy classroom spaces in collaboration with teachers.

Education
