Job summary

City Year is seeking an entry-level AmeriCorps member to coach and mentor students across elementary to high school levels. You will support academic progress, attendance, and positive behaviors while partnering with teachers on classroom activities and data-informed reviews.

Expect 2–4 weeks of initial training, a paid full-time commitment, and benefits typical for AmeriCorps. Start dates vary by location and year-round program needs.

Qualifications

• Experience in all these tasks is not required; City Year provides 2–4 weeks of training at the start of the year.
• Emphasis on coaching, mentoring and supporting students in school settings.
• Ability to collaborate with teachers and school staff to monitor student progress.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor elementary, middle and/or high school students to improve academic outcomes.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress and collaborate with teachers on instruction.
• Facilitate extended day and after-school activities to boost student engagement and learning.
