Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students to improve academic success and attendance. You will plan and monitor individualized progress, and work with teachers on classroom instruction and student support.

The role includes 2–4 weeks of initial training at the start of the year, with ongoing collaboration with partner teachers and school staff to ensure student progress and engagement.

Qualifications

• Experience coaching and mentoring students is preferred but not required.
• Willingness to participate in 2–4 weeks of initial training.
• Ability to work with teachers and school staff to support student progress.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor elementary to high school students to improve academic success and attendance.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress; support teachers in class activities.
• Create a positive classroom environment in collaboration with teachers.
