Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students to help them achieve academic success and develop positive school behaviors. You will work with teachers to support literacy and math skills, attendance, and engagement, while planning and monitoring individual progress.

Training is provided at the start of the year, typically 2–4 weeks. Roles include coordinating with staff, facilitating in-class support, and contributing to after-school and service-learning activities across the school

Qualifications

• Experience in coaching and mentoring students is central to the role.
• Training provided for year start (2–4 weeks) to support you.
• Ability to work with teachers and staff to support student success.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor elementary to high school students to improve academic success and attendance.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress and support classroom instruction.
• Collaborate with teachers to collect and analyze student progress data.
