Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps seeks entry-level student success coach and mentor to work with elementary, middle, and high school students. You will coach, mentor, and track progress, partnering with teachers to support literacy, math, attendance, and positive behavior.

No prior experience is required; 2–4 weeks of initial training are provided. This role offers full-time hours in a City Year location with AmeriCorps benefits and stipends.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; 2–4 weeks of training provided at start of year.
• Coaches and mentors elementary to high school students to improve academic success and attendance.
• Works with teachers on classroom activities and student progress.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 or in small groups to build literacy and math skills.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress and participate in data reviews.
• Collaborate with teachers to create engaging, safe classroom spaces.
• Support whole-school initiatives and extended day/after-school programs.
• Assist with behavior management and student development strategies.
