Job summary

UDF is seeking an Assistant Manager to lead daily store operations and ensure outstanding guest service. The role involves coaching staff, managing cash and POS activities, and maintaining shop conditions to meet high standards.

The candidate will oversee DipSide items and beverage preparation, handle stock and security procedures, and report to the Store Manager. Strong communication and reliability are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Ability to speak, hear and understand spoken English well enough to communicate effectively with customers.
• Ability to see well enough to operate store equipment, including POS terminal, gas console, check identification documents and to use price book.
• Ability to understand operating instructions for store equipment and to operate all store equipment.
• Ability to prepare DipSide items using supplies located in the dip cabinets.
• Ability to handle coins, currency, checks, credit transactions, coupons and food stamps, recognize denominations and accurately make change.
• Ability to recognize numbers, count and do arithmetic well enough to complete required records.
• Ability to move merchandise from storage to shelves/displays/freezers/milk box and place for proper display.
• Ability to clean counters and other surfaces.
• Ability to tolerate extreme temperatures.
• Ability to lift up to 10 pounds from floor to 5 feet.

Responsibilities

• Managing other Associates: assign/monitor duties, coach The Hi Five Guest Experience, train Shift Leaders and Guest Services Associates; participate in counseling/discipline.
• Store Administration: ordering, review of weekly deliveries, product transfers, paperwork as directed by Store Manager or District Supervisor.
• Overall Guest Services: provide the Hi Five Guest Experience, greet Guests, anticipate needs, ensure guest satisfaction and return intent.
• DipSide Guest Services: prepare shakes, malts, ice cream, sundaes, sodas, hand-packed containers.
• POS System and Gas Console: authorize and record transactions, manage cash, checks, and cards.
• Stocking Merchandise: keep shelves, freezers, and dip cabinet filled; rotate stock and check dates.
• Security: monitor guests, manage cash drops, follow Tobacco/Alcohol/Robbery protocols.
• Maintenance: keep store and parking lot clean and safe; monitor equipment temperatures.
• Reporting: accurate time records and Customer First Document.
• Other duties as assigned by Management
