Job summary

4100 Newton-Wellesley Hospital is seeking an experienced Clinic/Practice Assistant to support the Joint Center at 2000 Washington Street in Newton. This full-time, on-site role runs Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., contributing to a smooth, high-quality patient experience.

You will handle scheduling, registrations, and billing tasks while assisting with inquiries, document processing, and system training for staff, ensuring efficient daily operations and exemplary patient care.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills for interactions with patients and staff.
• Excellent organization and time management to handle multiple tasks.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and standard office procedures.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments and manage records.
• Assist patients and callers with inquiries and scheduling needs.
• Process patient billing forms, scan documents, and maintain records.
• Support prior authorizations, refill requests, and test result communications.
• Serve as a resource for scheduling, registration, and billing systems.
• Provide guidance to Office and Practice Assistants on key processes.
• Assist with complex practice functions such as surgical scheduling or schedule changes.
• Collaborate with Supervisor to oversee daily practice activities.
