Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Software Engineer to join the CDP Payment Acceptance team within the Developer group. You will ship full-stack features across Go backend and React/Next.js frontend, powering merchant checkout, onchain settlement, and subscriptions.

You will own dashboards, APIs, and workflows, collaborating with Product, Design, and engineering teams to integrate Payment Acceptance into Coinbase's broader developer platform. This remote-first role offers quarterly in-person surges.

Qualifications

• 3+ years building production-grade Go and TypeScript/React apps.
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL) and migrations.
• Designing APIs with protobuf/gRPC/REST/OpenAPI and observability.
• Experience with workflow systems (Temporal/Cadence/Step Functions) or onchain payment patterns.
• Ability to write clear design docs and runbooks.
• Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end feature delivery across Go backend services and the React/Next.js merchant-facing checkout experience, including gRPC/HTTP APIs, protobuf definitions, database migrations, and TypeScript client integrations.
• Build and refine the buyer checkout UI with a focus on conversion, accessibility, and performance.
• Implement durable, fault-tolerant payment workflows using Temporal for onchain settlement, refunds, and reconciliation against PostgreSQL.
• Instrument changes with structured logs, metrics, and Datadog traces, and own on-call rotation for services you ship.
• Partner with Product, Design, and engineering teams to integrate Payment Acceptance into the Coinbase developer platform.
