Job summary

Coinbase is hiring a Software Engineer for the CDP Payment Acceptance team. You will own end-to-end features across Go backend services and a React/Next.js checkout, delivering scalable payment experiences for merchants and developers.

You will build durable workflows with Temporal for onchain settlement, ensure observability with Datadog/OpenTelemetry, and collaborate with Product, Design, and engineering teams to integrate Payment Acceptance into Coinbase platform.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional full-stack software engineering experience shipping production systems in Go and TypeScript/React.
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL) including schema design, migrations, and SQL performance.
• Proven API design experience (protobuf/gRPC, REST, OpenAPI) with observability instrumentation.
• Experience with durable workflow systems (Temporal, Cadence, or Step Functions) or onchain payment patterns.
• Ability to write clear design docs, PR descriptions, and runbooks for cross-team collaboration.
• Demonstrates responsible use of generative AI tools in daily workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end feature delivery across Go backend services and React/Next.js merchant checkout experience, including APIs, migrations, and client integrations.
• Build and refine the buyer checkout UI focusing on conversion, accessibility, and performance.
• Implement durable payment workflows using Temporal for onchain settlement, refunds, and reconciliation.
• Instrument changes with logs, metrics, and Datadog traces; participate in on-call rotation.
• Partner with Product, Design, and engineering teams to integrate Payment Acceptance into Coinbase developer platform.
