Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Sr. Operations Manager in Sparrows Point, MD to lead and optimize Fulfillment Center operations. You will manage a team of Operations and Area Managers, drive budget adherence, people development and achievement of site objectives.

Responsibilities include coaching, building leadership bench strength, and coordinating with HR, Finance, Facilities and Safety to deliver continuous improvements across the FC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 2+ years of equivalent experience.
• Experience with a contingent workforce during peak seasons.
• Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations.
• Interest in long-term career development through assignments in multiple FCs across the nation.

Responsibilities

• Drives creation of quality initiatives, process change initiatives and Lean initiatives to enable their FC to meet and exceed business plan.
• Responsible for overall safety, quality, performance and customer experience of either Inbound or Outbound operations.
• Sets and clarifies requirements and expectations for Operations and Area Managers; measures performance and provides feedback.
• Leverages the Operations and Area Managers by sourcing and nurturing ideas, and rolling them into improvement plans.
• Promotes sharing best practices across all departments, shifts and network.
• Works with HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, IT and other Sr. Operations Managers to secure resources for projects and initiatives.
