Job summary

Trevecca Center for Rehabilitation and Healing in Mount Juliet, TN, is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join our skilled nursing team. The RT should evaluate and treat residents independently, possess a state license, and have a passion for geriatric care.

You will perform respiratory assessments, initiate therapies, document care, participate in IDT meetings, and support nursing staff with bedside treatments.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program. Licensed as RRT or CRT.
• Licensed in the state in which practicing. BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory techniques to maintain and progress the rehab patients.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment.
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments.
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter.
• Responsible for completing daily, weekly and monthly documentation.
• Attend applicable IDT meetings.
• Experience with tracheotomy.
• Experience is a long term care setting.
• Follow procedure and protocol of facility.
• Completes tracking, auditing and caseload management.
• Performs related duties as required.
• Described in the Departmental Policy and procedure Manual in these areas of skilled interventions: Oxygen weaning therapy, Omniflow – Biofeedback, Group respiratory therapy, Standardized respiratory testing, Aerosol therapy, IPPB therapy, Incentive Spirometry, Chest physiotherapy, Deep breathing and coughing, Bronchial hygiene therapy, PEP therapy, Postal Drainage, Positioning, Oro/Naso-pharyngeal suctioning, Airway clearance/management techniques, Trachea-bronchial suctioning, Tracheostomy care, Spirometry Bedside Testing, CPAP/BIPAP, High-Flow Oxygen, Cardiac Program, Pulmonary Program, Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation
