Job summary

Burlington Stores is seeking a Shortage Control Associate to help maintain a secure shopping environment while delivering exceptional customer service. You will monitor entrances, greet customers, and report theft incidents to the Manager on Duty.

The role requires a confident presence, ability to work a flexible part-time schedule, and commitment to shortage reduction programs. Ideal candidates have 1+ years in customer service or retail and can stay alert for extended periods.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, or Operations is preferred.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and monitor the store environment.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and analyze business trends.
• Strong, energetic greeting and clear communication with customers and coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Monitor store entrances and high‑risk areas to reduce theft opportunities.
• Identify theft incidents or suspicious subjects and report to the Manager on Duty.
• Greet every customer with a warm, confident, and friendly greeting and maintain a secure environment.
• Assist in shortage reduction programs and training for associates.
