Job summary

Burlington Stores is seeking a part-time Shortage Control Associate in Massachusetts to help maintain a secure shopping environment while delivering excellent customer service. You will monitor entrances, greet customers, and report any theft incidents to the Manager on Duty, supporting store leadership with shortage reduction programs.

The role requires staying alert, communicating effectively, and training others in safety and security best practices.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, or Operations.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and monitor store environment.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to review, analyze and comprehend business trends.
• Strong, energetic greeting and positive demeanor.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Excellent communication with customers and coworkers.
• Excellent leadership skills to foster productive relationships.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the store entrances and exits to reduce theft.
• Greet every customer with a warm smile and friendly greeting.
• Identify and report theft incidents to the Manager on Duty.
• Train associates on shortage reduction programs.
• Stay aware of surroundings and maintain safety standards.
• Support leadership with security and loss prevention initiatives.
• Work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
