Job summary

Burlington Stores, Inc. in Warwick, RI is seeking a dedicated Shortage Control Associate to help create a secure shopping environment while delivering excellent customer service. You will monitor entrances and high‑risk areas, greet customers with a warm smile, and report theft incidents to the Manager on Duty.

This role requires standing for long periods, clear communication, and confidentiality. You will train staff on shortage reduction programs, support leaders, and work a flexible schedule

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, or Operations is preferred.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while monitoring the store environment.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to review, analyze and comprehend business trends.
• Exhibits a positive demeanor, strong posture, and energetic greeting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain presence at store entrances/exits or high‑risk areas to deter theft.
• Greet every customer with a warm smile and confident greeting to promote security and service.
• Identify and report theft incidents or suspicious activity to the Manager on Duty.
• Support and train associates on shortage reduction programs and safe practices.
