Job summary

BRC seeks a Community Technician to provide a consistent, trusted presence for individuals experiencing homelessness across shifts. The role emphasizes trauma-informed engagement, safety, and crisis response. Training and certifications are provided, with opportunities for growth within the organization.

Primary duties include monitoring, documentation, safety procedures, and supporting residents and operations to maintain a secure, respectful environment.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills and basic computer proficiency are required.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and maintain professional boundaries.
  • Willingness to obtain required certifications (CPR/First Aid, Narcan, Fire Safety Guard).

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe, orderly residential environment through active monitoring and rounds.
  • Engage residents using trauma-informed and de-escalation techniques.
  • Respond to conflicts, safety concerns, and crises professionally.
  • Screen residents and visitors while maintaining dignity and security.
  • Provide emergency support (First Aid/CPR, Narcan, training provided).
  • Complete documentation (logbooks, incident reports, progress notes).
  • Support fire safety procedures, inspections, and compliance.
  • Assist with meals, escorts, inventory, and facility upkeep.
