Job summary

SMX is seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer - Front End Web Application to contribute to the Budget and Spend (BAS) solution. The role is remote, supporting a Washington, DC based customer and requires a Public Trust clearance.

The candidate will develop interactive UI components, review requirements, and optimize front-end performance using SAC Analytics Designer and standard web technologies. Strong collaboration and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience.
• 2 years of software engineering experience working across front-end web technologies (JavaScript, HTML5, CSS).
• Understanding of JavaScript and its intricacies.
• Knowledge of REST APIs and data formats such as XML/JSON.
• Experience in Object Oriented Programming/Design and debugging.

Responsibilities

• Build enterprise planning and reporting applications using SAC Analytics Cloud or other web technologies such as JavaScript.
• Review application requirements and interface designs.
• Develop and implement highly interactive UI/UX components.
• Monitor and improve front-end performance.
• Document application changes and updates.
• Provide feedback on the feasibility of UI/UX designs.
• Optimize web applications for scalability and speed.
• Participate in code reviews and communicate with team members.
