Job summary

SMX is seeking a Software Engineer - Front End Web Application to design, build, and support the Budget and Spend (BAS) solution. This remote role supports a Washington, DC based customer and requires a Public Trust clearance.

You will work with SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) and modern web tech (JavaScript, HTML5, CSS) to create interactive UI/UX components, optimize performance, and participate in code reviews. A Bachelor’s degree in CS and 2 years front‑end experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field required.
• 2 years of software engineering experience in front-end technologies (JavaScript, HTML5, CSS).
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs and data formats like XML/JSON.
• Familiarity with OO design and web development debugging.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Public Trust clearance or ability to obtain one.
• U.S. citizenship required to maintain a federal clearance.

Responsibilities

• Build enterprise planning and reporting applications using SAC or other web technologies such as JavaScript.
• Review application requirements and interface designs.
• Develop and implement highly interactive UI/UX components.
• Monitor and improve front-end performance.
• Document application changes and updates.
• Provide feedback on UI/UX feasibility.
• Optimize web applications for scalability and speed.
• Participate in code reviews and team communication.
