Job summary

Compass is seeking a Software Engineer II to help drive the Transaction Journey frontend across forms and eSign, delivering high-impact features for agents and clients. You will collaborate with product and design teams to create intuitive, scalable components that streamline real estate transactions.

You’ll write robust frontend code, participate in code reviews, and contribute to a culture of learning and growth in Seattle.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 2-4 years of software engineering experience developing well-tested, high-performance applications.
• 2+ years of experience with Typescript, Javascript, and HTML/CSS.
• 2+ years of experience with React and NodeJS.
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and implementation trade-offs.
• A sheer eye for design and attention to detail in user-facing products.
• Dedication to software testing best practices using Cypress and Jest.
• Collaborative mindset with independent execution on straightforward technical problems and an eagerness to seek guidance when facing ambiguity.
• Practical experience or strong interest in using AI-assisted development tools in real delivery environments.
• Nice to have: Experience with backend programming (Java, Golang, Python).
• Nice to have: AWS/cloud technologies, Kafka, and modern CI/CD tooling.

Responsibilities

• Develop core Frontend components for Forms and eSign products using modern frameworks like React.
• Drive quality with well-tested code and comprehensive tests to minimize defects.
• Enhance operational excellence through monitoring and on-call rotations for reliability of the platform.
• Deliver features end-to-end, collaborating with senior engineers on complex designs.
• Act as a Component SME and support peers with internal tools and components.
• Participate in Agile workflows, code reviews, planning, and design discussions.
