Job summary

Compass is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for the Transaction Journey organization to lead frontend systems powering the transaction management platform used by real estate agents.

You will define architecture, drive scalable, well-tested features, and mentor engineers while collaborating with product and design to deliver delightful experiences across forms, eSign, compliance review, and commissions processing.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of experience building high-performance software in Typescript/Javascript/HTML/CSS.
• 5+ years leading React and NodeJS projects.
• 3+ years using cloud technologies (AWS).
• Track record of technical leadership with cross-team impact.
• Strong CI/CD, Agile/Scrum practices and design sensibility.

Responsibilities

• Define and own platform architecture and data workflows for the Transaction Journey stack.
• Lead delivery of complex frontend projects across the stack and ensure high quality, well-tested code.
• Mentor engineers and foster a culture of operational excellence and accountability.
• Collaborate with product and design to ship user-centric features with scale.
• Adopt modern software patterns and AI-enabled workflows to automate tasks.
• Drive reliability and performance improvements across services.
