Job summary

Compass in New York is seeking a Software Engineer II for the Transaction Journey organization. You will develop frontend components using React and TypeScript to enhance the Forms and eSign experiences for agents and clients.

You will collaborate with product and design, write tests with Cypress and Jest, participate in code reviews, and own parts of the UI with a focus on usability and performance. The role emphasizes clear communication and learning.

Qualifications

BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
2-4 years of software engineering experience.
2+ years of TypeScript, JavaScript, and HTML/CSS.
2+ years of React and NodeJS.
Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and trade-offs.
Interest in creating user-friendly products with strong attention to design.
Experience with Cypress and Jest for testing.
Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools is a plus.
Nice to have: backend experience in Java, Golang, or Python; AWS/Kafka/CI-CD familiarity.

Responsibilities

Develop core Frontend components for forms and eSign using modern frameworks (React).
Write high-quality, maintainable tests and reduce defects with Cypress and Jest.
Improve operational excellence, monitoring, and on-call reliability for the Forms and eSign platform.
Deliver features end-to-end, collaborating with senior engineers on complex designs.
Serve as a SME for internal components and tools; participate in code reviews and design discussions.
