Job summary

Cavender’s is seeking a Head Cashier to lead front-end operations and deliver Best of the WEST customer service. The role includes training cashiers, processing transactions, and maintaining organized displays to support daily store performance.

The Head Cashier will work with store leadership to ensure policy compliance, safety, and a positive shopping experience for every customer. Flexibility for schedule is required.

Qualifications

• Ability to provide exceptional customer service in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Ability to operate a Point of Sale system and handle cash and electronic transactions.
• Ability to train and coach associates while promoting a positive, team-oriented work environment.
• Ability to lift, move, and position merchandise regularly.
• Ability to safely use store equipment per company policies.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to comprehend basic instructions, interpret documents, and apply them to daily tasks.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Read and understand English.
• Stay alert and productive during assigned work hours.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Best of the WEST customer service by greeting every customer and guiding their shopping experience.
• Process customer purchases, returns, exchanges, and other POS transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Train, coach, and support cashiers on POS procedures, cash handling, and company policies.
• Assist leadership by monitoring front-end operations and answering cashier questions.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked sales floor and displays.
• Ensure merchandise is displayed and signed according to standards.
• Report safety concerns and follow company policies.
• Assist with merchandising updates and other store tasks as assigned.
