Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking an Area Leader to oversee team engagement, onboarding, coaching, and development across a span of care. You will manage staffing discussions, drive performance coaching, and ensure execution of corporate plans to maximize sales and productivity while owning budget line items in the P&L.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 4+ years of retail/grocery or customer service experience.
• Progressive leadership experience preferred.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information to inform decisions.
• Strong communication to provide clear direction.
• Commitment to safety and fostering an inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

• Engage with team members to ensure onboarding, training and development with coaching and feedback.
• Identify talent and support staffing for diverse leadership pipelines.
• Lead area operations and manage financial results, including budget and P&L management.
• Drive process improvements and ensure Meijer standards and culture are upheld.
• Guide Team Leaders and Leads in assigning daily work and addressing training needs.
