Job summary

Jefferson Health in Pennsylvania seeks a Patient Services Associate I to enhance the patient experience by courteously processing arrivals and departures at the front desk of the outpatient practice. You will verify insurance, referrals and patient demographics to support smooth flow to examination rooms.

The role emphasizes professional interactions with patients and visitors, adherence to HIPAA, and teamwork with staff.

Qualifications

• Must be able to communicate courteously with patients and/or visitors.
• Willingness to provide and support a positive Jefferson Experience for all patients and/or visitors.
• Ability to complete multiple tasks and work under pressure.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.(Do not delete, move or over-write this statement)
• Processes check in and/or check out, point of service activities and/or scheduling of patient appointments via EPIC.
• Greets and interacts with patients/visitors in a professional manner, on phone or in person.
• Maintains efficient flow of practice and escalates patient and/or provider concerns as appropriate.
• Adheres to HIPAA privacy and security requirements. Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulatory standards.
• Other duties as requested or assigned.
