Job summary

Gold's Gym in Chapel Hill, NC, is seeking a Front Desk Sales Associate to greet members and guests, process check-ins, handle inquiries, and support daily front-desk operations.

You will assist with memberships, merchandise sales, and phone inquiries, directing members to fitness consultants, and ensuring a clean, welcoming environment. This role requires a high school diploma, strong communication, reliable attendance, and the ability to multitask and lift 25 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Excellent customer service skills are required.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both staff and members.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally, non-verbally and in writing is required.
• Understanding of basic accounting principles is required.
• Understanding of basic cash processing procedures is required.
• Functional computer skills are required.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Must be able to work a flexible work schedule to include holidays and weekends.
• Must be able to lift 25lbs repeatedly and stand for extended periods of time.

Responsibilities

• Enthusiastically greets each member and guest promptly.
• Provides security and control to the front door and retail area.
• Checks each member into the gym using proper procedures.
• Monitors check-ins to identify delinquent accounts.
• Registers all guests into the gym.
• Directs guests and appointments to the appropriate fitness consultant.
• Answers phone professionally and courteously.
• Takes messages and notes caller information.
• Registers telephone inquiries and transfers calls appropriately.
• Follows up on telephone inquiries to ensure appointments are booked properly.
• Responds to member requests, inquiries and concerns.
• Maintains neat appearance and proper uniform with nametag.
• Distributes keys, towels and other materials as needed.
• Processes retail and concession sales.
• Attends staff meetings as directed.
• Performs gym walk-throughs and logs maintenance concerns.
• Follows opening and closing procedures.
• Notifies management of incidents and safety concerns.
• Works as scheduled and adheres to attendance policies.
• Performs other duties as directed, including light cleaning and picking up weights.
