IHG Hotels & Resorts in Alexandria, VA is hiring a Front Desk Agent to greet guests, process check-ins/outs, handle transactions and provide local recommendations. You’ll be the first point of contact, delivering a warm and seamless experience from arrival to departure.

The role requires strong communication, problem-solving, and basic computer skills; a high school diploma is preferred, and at least one year in front desk or guest service is ideal.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication with guests and team members.
• Strong problem-solving abilities to resolve issues quickly.
• Fluency in the local language preferred; English required.
• Basic reading, writing, math and computer skills.
• Flexibility for night, weekend, and holiday shifts.
• One year of front desk or guest service experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Be the warm welcome that kicks off a memorable guest experience.
• Acknowledge members and returning guests in person or by phone.
• Take and manage guest bookings, upsell opportunities, and communicate stay enhancements.
• Handle cash and credit transactions.
• Check guests in and out, collect IDs, issue keys, and manage safe deposit boxes.
• Record and act on guest preferences and respond to requests and concerns.
• Be the trusted contact for guests and escalate to management when needed.
• Follow safety procedures and wear required protective gear.
• Maintain a professional appearance and represent the brand.
• Know daily events and assist with ad hoc duties.
