Placements24 is seeking a knowledgeable Freight Forwarder to manage international and domestic shipments remotely. You will coordinate transportation, prepare documentation, liaise with customs brokers and carriers, and ensure timely delivery.

The role requires a deep understanding of global logistics and excellent communication. You will be a primary client contact, offering guidance and cost-efficient solutions while supporting operations across East London and beyond.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Arrange and manage the booking of shipments via air, sea or land transport.

• Track shipments and provide updates to clients on status.
• Negotiate freight rates with carriers to ensure competitive pricing.
• Resolve issues or discrepancies during the shipping process.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Freight Forwarder to manage international and domestic shipments for their clients. Operating remotely, you will be responsible for coordinating the transportation of goods, managing documentation, liaising with customs brokers and carriers, and ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery. This role requires a deep understanding of global logistics, excellent communication skills, and the ability to navigate complex shipping regulations. You will be a key point of contact for clients, providing expert guidance and solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Arrange and manage the booking of shipments via air, sea, or land transport.
• Prepare and process all necessary shipping documentation, including bills of lading, customs declarations, and invoices.
• Coordinate with customs brokers, carriers, and other logistics partners to ensure smooth transit.
• Track shipments and provide regular updates to clients regarding their status.
• Negotiate freight rates with carriers to ensure competitive pricing.
• Resolve any issues or discrepancies that arise during the shipping process.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Freight Forwarder or in a similar international logistics role.
• Thorough understanding of international shipping regulations, customs procedures, and documentation requirements.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple shipments simultaneously in a remote setting, supporting clients with operations relevant to East London and beyond.
