Altius Talent | Freight Forwarding Recruitment is partnering with a growing international freight forwarder in Los Angeles to add an experienced Logistics Coordinator – Air & Ocean Import/Export to the operations team. Qualifications

• Previous international freight forwarding experience.
• Experience handling Air and/or Ocean Import/Export.
• Strong understanding of international shipping documentation and freight processes.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Air & Ocean Import and Export shipments from origin through final delivery.
• Manage shipments throughout the full operational lifecycle.
• Handle import and export documentation accurately and efficiently.
• Coordinate bookings with airlines, steamship lines, truckers, warehouses, and overseas agents.
• Track and trace shipments and provide proactive updates to customers.
• Review shipping documentation including invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and air waybills.
• Coordinate customs clearance with internal brokerage teams and external customs brokers.
• Arrange pickups, deliveries, and final-mile transportation.
• Ensure shipments comply with relevant international shipping regulations and company procedures.
• Handle rate requests, quotations, and shipment-related costs where required.
• Resolve operational issues, delays, and exceptions quickly and professionally.
• Maintain accurate shipment information within the company’s operating system.
• Build strong relationships with customers, carriers, vendors, and international partners.

The Opportunity

We are working with a growing international freight forwarder in the Los Angeles market that is looking to add an experienced Logistics Coordinator – Air & Ocean Import/Export to its operations team.

This is a great opportunity for someone with hands-on freight forwarding experience who enjoys managing shipments from start to finish, communicating directly with customers and overseas partners, and taking ownership of their files.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate Air & Ocean Import and Export shipments from origin through final delivery
• Manage shipments throughout the full operational lifecycle
• Handle import and export documentation accurately and efficiently
• Coordinate bookings with airlines, steamship lines, truckers, warehouses, and overseas agents
• Track and trace shipments and provide proactive updates to customers
• Review shipping documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and air waybills

What We’re Looking Fo r

• Excellent attention to detail

• Experience with freight forwarding operating systems is beneficial
