Qualifications

• 3-5 years relevant experience required.
• Experience in Descartes IES (Preferred but not required).
• Good written and verbal communication, problem solving, and interpersonal skills; courteous; organized and able to prioritize tasks.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), database and web-based applications.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate import and export shipments across ocean, air, and ground modes.
• Prepare and review shipping documentation to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Manage bookings with carriers, truckers, and warehouses for on-time pick-ups and deliveries.
• Communicate daily with clients, overseas partners, carriers, and Customs brokers.
• Monitor shipment status in the logistics system and update tracking milestones.
• Provide Customs clearance support as needed.
• Collaborate with operations and accounting on billing, cost tracking, and margins.
• Troubleshoot delays or issues to maintain smooth cargo flows.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. and international trade laws (ITAR, EAR).

Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented Freight Forwarding and Logistics Coordinator to manage international and domestic shipments from booking to final delivery. In this role, you will coordinate with carriers, Customs brokers, and clients to ensure accurate documentation, regulatory compliance, and timely cargo movement. The ideal candidate is highly organized, knowledgeable in freight forwarding processes, and committed to providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Coordinate import and export shipments across ocean, air, and ground transportation modes.
• Prepare and review shipping documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, airway bills, certificates of origin, etc.) to ensure compliance with U.S. Customs and international trade regulations.
• Manage bookings with carriers, truckers, and warehouses, ensuring on-time pick-ups and deliveries.
• Communicate daily with clients, overseas partners, carriers, and Customs brokers to provide shipment updates and resolve exceptions.
• Monitor shipment status in the company’s logistics system, updating tracking milestones accurately and promptly.
• Handle Customs clearance support
• Work closely with the operations and accounting teams to ensure accurate billing, cost tracking, and margin management.
• Proactively troubleshoot delays, discrepancies, or service issues to maintain smooth cargo flows.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. and international trade laws, including ITAR, EAR, and other regulatory frameworks as required.
