Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• 2 years general office experience preferred
• 1 year customer service experience preferred
• Transportation experience preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Perform administrative/clerical functions, including filing, copying, imaging, answering phones, data entry, sorting/distributing mail and/or packages
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports
• Provide accurate information and assistance to customers, determining pick-up/delivery needs, resolving issues, updating systems
• Enter freight shipment information into computer systems and generate/adjust freight bills
• Administer freight pick-up process as required
• Assist customers via phone, e-mail and/or fax with inquiries including tracing shipments and rate quotes
• Make freight delivery appointments as required
• Review drivers' Hours-of-Service logs and report discrepancies
• Coordinate with city operations and other departments to meet customer needs
• Reconcile cash and checks, prepare deposits and COD remittance
• Comply with laws/regulations and company policies
