Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking an entry-level Customer Service / Administrative Specialist to support daily freight operations at the Buford, GA service center.

The role handles documentation, customer inquiries, and scheduling while ensuring accuracy in data entry and standard processes. Responsibilities include processing shipments, updating systems, confirming pickup/delivery needs, and assisting drivers and sales with coordinated operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years general office experience preferred.
• One year customer service experience preferred.
• Experience in transportation preferred.
• Strong phone and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to count and perform basic math.

Responsibilities

• Handle administrative/clerical tasks: filing, imaging, answering phones, data entry, mail/distribution.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Provide information to customers: determine pickup/delivery needs, update systems, note special handling.
• Enter freight shipment data and generate freight bills.
• Assist customers via phone, email, and fax with inquiries.
• Make freight delivery appointments as needed.
• Review Hours-of-Service logs and report discrepancies.
• Coordinate with city operations and other departments to satisfy customer needs.
• Reconcile cash and checks, prepare deposits and COD remittance.
• Comply with laws and company policies.
