Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking an administrative and customer service assistant to support the service center. You will handle documentation, process shipments, answer phones, and assist customers with pickup and delivery needs.

Ideal candidates have strong communication, data entry, and multitasking skills, plus prior office or transportation experience is preferred. This role operates in a fast-paced office/dock environment with varying hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years general office experience preferred.
• One year customer service experience preferred.
• Previous transportation experience preferred.
• Strong phone and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform administrative/clerical functions including files, copying, imaging, answering phones, data entry, mail/distribution.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Provide accurate information to customers and determine pickup/delivery needs, handling special requirements.
• Enter freight shipment information into the system and generate/adjust freight bills.
• Administer the freight pickup process and assist customers via phone, email, and fax.
