Position Overview: Fresh Foods Supervisor

The supervisor will effectively direct and oversee all activities of the deli/food service department and its personnel to meet merchandising, sales, and customer service goals. Previous food service management experience (minimum 2 years) and a passion for food and customer service are essential.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Managing department staff, aligning with department goals, and communicating with store management and supervisors.
2. Hiring, onboarding, and coaching new team members.
3. Scheduling staff shifts.
4. Engaging with customers through greetings, providing product information, suggesting products, sampling, and expressing gratitude.
5. Handling customer orders to ensure timely and satisfactory service.
6. Ensuring compliance with all food safety and sanitation regulations.
7. Ordering supplies and maintaining proper stock levels and merchandising standards.
8. Overseeing preparation and presentation of deli/food service items such as entrees, fried foods, pizzas, salads, soups, sandwiches, and beverages.
9. Displaying products according to company merchandising guidelines.
10. Following recipes precisely and rotating stock for quality and safety.
11. Receiving and auditing merchandise, managing inventory, and organizing storage areas.
12. Completing paperwork accurately and promptly.
13. Processing transactions accurately and efficiently at the register.
14. Monitoring product pricing, signage, and placement.
15. Maintaining cleanliness and organization of work areas.
16. Ensuring safety protocols are followed by all staff.
17. Performing additional duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least 18 years old.
• Minimum two years of management experience in a fresh foods environment.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings, and to assist at other locations.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
• Serv-Safe certification preferred.
• Passion for food and creativity.
• Ability to work efficiently, communicate professionally, and perform basic math and technical skills.
• Physical ability to lift up to 25 lbs, work in coolers/freezers, and stand for long periods.
