Position Overview: Fresh Foods Supervisor

The supervisor will oversee all activities of the deli/food service department and its staff to meet merchandising, sales, and customer service goals. Candidates must have at least 2 years of food service management experience and a passion for food and customer service.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Managing department personnel, achieving goals, and coordinating with store management.
2. Hiring, onboarding, and coaching new team members.
3. Scheduling staff shifts.
4. Engaging with customers through friendly interactions, offering product information, and sampling.
5. Processing customer orders and ensuring satisfaction.
6. Adhering to all food safety and sanitation regulations.
7. Ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels.
8. Overseeing the preparation and merchandising of deli/food items such as sandwiches, salads, hot foods, and beverages.
9. Following product recipes and rotating stock for quality and safety.
10. Receiving and inspecting merchandise, managing inventory, and maintaining cleanliness.
11. Completing administrative tasks accurately and timely.
12. Handling cash register operations, including transactions and pricing accuracy.
13. Monitoring product signage and pricing.
14. Maintaining cleanliness and safety in all work areas.
15. Performing other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least 18 years old.
• Minimum 2 years of management experience in a food environment.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
• Serv-Safe certification preferred.
• Passion for food and creativity.
• Professional communication skills and courteous demeanor.
• Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
• Basic math skills and familiarity with register and equipment use.
• Knowledge of food ingredients and safety procedures.
• Physical ability to lift up to 25 lbs, work in coolers/freezers, and stand for long periods.
