Position: Fresh Foods Supervisor

The supervisor will manage all activities of the deli/food service department and its staff to meet merchandising, sales, and customer service goals. Candidates must have at least 2 years of food service management experience and a passion for food and customer service.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Supervising department staff, achieving department goals, and coordinating with store management.
2. Recruiting, onboarding, and coaching new team members.
3. Scheduling staff shifts.
4. Engaging with customers positively, offering product information, and providing sampling and suggestions.
5. Processing customer orders and ensuring satisfaction.
6. Ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations.
7. Ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels and merchandising standards.
8. Overseeing food preparation and merchandising of deli items, including entrees, fried foods, pizzas, salads, soups, sandwiches, and beverages.
9. Displaying products according to company guidelines.
10. Following recipes accurately and rotating products for quality and safety.
11. Receiving and auditing merchandise, managing inventory, and maintaining storage areas.
12. Accurately completing paperwork and processing transactions.
13. Monitoring product pricing and signage.
14. Maintaining cleanliness and safety in all work areas.
15. Performing other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• At least 18 years old
• Minimum 2 years in a food management role in a fresh foods environment
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings, and to assist at other locations
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
• Serv-Safe certification preferred
• Passion for food and creativity
• Professional communication and customer service skills
• Ability to perform basic math and operate POS equipment
• Physical ability to lift up to 25 lbs, stand for long periods, and work in coolers and freezers
