Position: Fresh Foods Supervisor

The supervisor will effectively direct and oversee all activities of the deli/food service department and its staff to meet merchandising, sales, and customer service goals. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of food service management experience and a genuine passion for food and customer service.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Managing department staff, achieving goals, and communicating with store management and supervisors.
2. Recruiting, onboarding, and coaching new team members.
3. Scheduling staff shifts.
4. Engaging with customers through greetings, offering product information, suggesting products, sampling, and expressing gratitude.
5. Processing customer orders, ensuring timely completion and satisfaction.
6. Adhering to all food safety and sanitation regulations.
7. Ordering products and supplies to maintain stock and merchandising standards.
8. Overseeing the preparation and presentation of deli/food items such as entrees, fried foods, pizzas, salads, soups, sandwiches, and beverages.
9. Displaying products according to company guidelines.
10. Following recipes accurately.
11. Rotating stock to ensure quality and safety, controlling shrinkage.
12. Receiving and auditing merchandise, organizing storage areas.
13. Performing inventory counts periodically.
14. Completing paperwork accurately and promptly.
15. Handling cash register transactions, giving change, and processing refunds.
16. Using scales and ensuring correct weights and pricing.
17. Monitoring product pricing, signage, and placement.
18. Maintaining cleanliness and organization of counters, prep areas, and storage.
19. Ensuring safety procedures and equipment are used properly.
20. Performing other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least 18 years old.
• Minimum of 2 years in a food environment, preferably in management.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings, and to assist other locations.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license.
• Serv-Safe certification preferred.
• Passion for food and creativity.
• Professional and courteous demeanor.
• Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
• Basic math skills and familiarity with POS systems.
• Ability to learn product ingredients and store signage.
• Effective communication skills.
• Physical ability to lift up to 25 lbs, work in coolers/freezers, and stand for long periods.
