Position Overview: Fresh Foods Supervisor

The fresh foods supervisor will oversee all activities of the deli/food service department and its staff to meet merchandising, sales, and customer service goals. Candidates must have at least 2 years of food service management experience and a genuine passion for food and customer service.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Managing department staff, achieving departmental goals, and communicating with store management and supervisors.
2. Recruiting, onboarding, and coaching new team members.
3. Scheduling staff shifts.
4. Engaging with customers through friendly interactions, offering product information, and providing sampling and suggestions.
5. Handling customer orders to ensure satisfaction and timely completion.
6. Ensuring compliance with all food safety and sanitation regulations.
7. Ordering products and supplies to maintain stock levels and merchandising standards.
8. Overseeing the preparation and display of deli/food service items, including breakfast, lunch, dinner entrees, fried foods, pizzas, salads, soups, sandwiches, and beverages.
9. Following product recipes accurately and rotating items for quality and safety.
10. Receiving and organizing merchandise, auditing invoices, and managing inventory.
11. Completing paperwork accurately and promptly.
12. Processing transactions at the register, including giving change and refunds, and ensuring correct pricing and weights.
13. Maintaining cleanliness and organization of counters, prep areas, and storage areas.
14. Adhering to safety procedures and using safety equipment.
15. Performing additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of management experience in a food environment.
• Availability to work weekends, holidays, and evenings, and to assist other locations.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
• Serv-Safe certification preferred.
• Passion for food, creativity, and willingness to learn new recipes and products.
• Ability to work efficiently, communicate professionally, and perform basic math calculations.
• Ability to operate registers, scales, scanners, and POS terminals.
• Ability to read labels, signage, and codes.
• Physical ability to lift up to 25 lbs, work in coolers, and stand for long periods.
