Position Overview: Fresh Foods Supervisor

The successful candidate will effectively direct and supervise all activities within the deli/food service department, including personnel management, to meet merchandising, sales, and customer service objectives. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of food service management experience and a genuine passion for food and customer service.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Managing department staff, achieving departmental goals, and communicating with store management and supervisors.
2. Hiring, onboarding, and coaching new team members.
3. Scheduling staff shifts.
4. Engaging with customers through greetings, offering product information, suggesting products, sampling, and expressing gratitude.
5. Processing customer orders to ensure satisfaction and timely completion.
6. Adhering to all food safety and sanitation regulations and policies.
7. Ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels and merchandising standards.
8. Overseeing preparation and display of deli/food items, including entrees, fried foods, pizzas, salads, soups, sandwiches, roller grill items, beverages, and snacks.
9. Following product recipes accurately and ensuring quality and safety through proper rotation and shrink control.
10. Receiving and inspecting merchandise, managing inventory, and maintaining storage areas.
11. Completing paperwork accurately and timely.
12. Handling cash register operations, including transactions, giving change, and refunds.
13. Monitoring product pricing, signage, and placement.
14. Maintaining cleanliness and organization of work areas and storage spaces.
15. Ensuring safety protocols are followed by all staff.
16. Performing additional duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least 18 years old.
• Minimum of 2 years of management experience in a fresh foods environment.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings, and to assist other locations as needed.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
• Serv-Safe certification preferred.
• Passion for food and creativity in food preparation.
• Excellent communication, courtesy, and customer service skills.
• Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
• Basic math skills and familiarity with POS systems.
• Willingness to learn about products and recipes.
• Physical ability to lift up to 25 lbs, work in coolers/freezers, and stand for long periods.
