Position Overview:

The Fresh Foods Supervisor will oversee all activities of the deli/food service department and its staff to meet merchandising, sales, and customer service goals. Candidates must have at least 2 years of food service management experience and a passion for food and customer service.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Managing department staff, achieving departmental goals, and communicating with store management and supervisors.
2. Hiring, onboarding, and coaching new team members.
3. Scheduling staff shifts.
4. Engaging with customers through greetings, product information, sampling, and expressing gratitude.
5. Handling customer orders, ensuring timely and satisfactory completion.
6. Adhering to all food safety and sanitation regulations.
7. Ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels and merchandising standards.
8. Overseeing the preparation and sale of deli/food service items, including entrees, fried foods, pizzas, salads, soups, sandwiches, and beverages.
9. Displaying products according to company merchandising guidelines.
10. Following recipes precisely and rotating stock for quality and safety.
11. Receiving and auditing merchandise, managing inventory, and organizing storage areas.
12. Completing paperwork accurately and promptly.
13. Processing transactions, giving change, and handling refunds.
14. Using scales and register equipment correctly.
15. Monitoring product pricing, signage, and placement.
16. Maintaining cleanliness and order in sales and food prep areas.
17. Ensuring safety procedures are followed by all staff.
18. Performing additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Minimum of 2 years of management experience in a food environment.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
• Serv-Safe certification preferred.
• Passion for food and creativity.
• Professional and courteous demeanor.
• Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
• Basic math skills and familiarity with POS systems.
• Ability to read labels, signage, and policies.
• Knowledge of deli ingredients and food preparation.
• Strong communication skills and customer focus.
• Physical ability to lift up to 25 lbs, work in coolers, and stand for long periods.
