Position: Fresh Foods Supervisor

The successful candidate will effectively direct and supervise all activities of the deli/food service department and its personnel to achieve merchandising, sales, and customer service goals. Previous food service management experience (minimum 2 years) and a genuine passion for food and customer service are essential.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Leading department staff, achieving goals, and communicating with store management and supervisors.
• Hiring, onboarding, and coaching new team members.
• Scheduling staff shifts.
• Engaging with customers through greetings, product information, suggestions, sampling, and expressing gratitude.
• Taking customer orders and ensuring timely and satisfactory completion.
• Adhering to all food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Ordering supplies and maintaining stock and merchandising standards.
• Overseeing preparation and presentation of deli/food service items, including entrees, fried foods, pizzas, salads, soups, sandwiches, and beverages.
• Displaying products per merchandising guidelines.
• Following recipes accurately and rotating stock for quality and safety.
• Receiving and auditing merchandise, managing inventory, and organizing storage areas.
• Completing paperwork accurately and timely.
• Handling cash register transactions, including giving change and processing refunds.
• Using scales and ensuring correct weights and pricing.
• Monitoring product pricing, signage, and placement.
• Maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of work areas.
• Ensuring safety procedures are followed by all staff.
• Performing additional duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least 18 years old.
• Minimum of 2 years in a food environment, preferably in management.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, evenings, and assist other locations.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
• Serv-Safe certification preferred.
• A passion for food, creativity, and eagerness to learn.
• Professional and courteous demeanor.
• Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
• Basic math skills and familiarity with POS systems and signage.
• Knowledge of deli ingredients and food preparation.
• Good communication and listening skills.
• Physical ability to lift up to 25 lbs, work in coolers, stand for long periods, and operate kitchen equipment.
