Job summary

Saint Joseph Medical Center - Joliet is seeking an Internal Registry RN to provide safe, patient-centered care across units as a floating nurse. The assignment will involve a 12-week duration with nights and days available, and a compensation of $57.50 per hour.

The RN will perform the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation), maintain patient privacy, and communicate changes with physicians. Float to multiple units while maintaining competency.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• BLS (ARC/AHA) certificate on hire and maintain.
• ACLS (ARC/AHA) certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain.
• PALS (ARC/AHA) certificate within 30 days of hire if floating to ER/OR/PACU/Day Patient.
• NRP and Basic Fetal monitoring or AWHONN within 90 days for employees floating to Women’s Services.
• TNCC within 12 months of hire for employees floating to Emergency Department.
• BSN preferred.
• Able to float to two or more units and maintain competency.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Float RN may be assigned to two or more units based on need and will maintain competency to practice in all units.
• Direct patient care within scope of practice and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel.
• Communicate with physician about changes in patient condition and test results.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
