Job summary

Saint Joseph Medical Center - Joliet is seeking an Internal Registry Registered Nurse (RN) for a 12-week assignment in the Float Pool. Position offers Nights and Days shifts with compensation at $57.50 per hour.

This PRN role requires active RN licensure in Illinois and current BLS, ACLS, PALS (and NRP/Fetal monitoring where applicable). The Float RN may cover two or more units, delivering direct patient care, teaching patients and families, and communicating changes in condition to the

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS (ARC/AHA) certificate on hire and maintained.
• Current ACLS (ARC/AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintained.
• Current PALS (ARC/AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintained. (Only for floating into ER, OR, PACU, Day Patient.)
• NRP and Basic Fetal monitoring or AWHONN within 90 days for employees floating to Women’s Services.
• TNCC within 12 months of hire for employees floating to Emergency Department.
• BSN preferred.
• Able to float to two or more units and maintain competency.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process.
• Float RN may be assigned to two or more units and maintain competency.
• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice.
• Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel.
• Communicate with physicians about changes in patient condition and diagnostic results.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
