Job summary

Saint Joseph Medical Center - Joliet is seeking an Internal Registry RN to provide essential patient care in a float pool. The role supports multiple units and requires strong nursing assessment, planning, and communication with physicians.

The position is PRN with nights and days available, offering a 12-week assignment with the potential for ongoing staffing adjustments based on needs.

Qualifications

Current and valid state RN license.
BLS (ARC/AHA) certification upon hire and maintain.
ACLS (ARC/AHA) certification within 30 days and maintain.
PALS (ARC/AHA) certification within 30 days and maintain ( ER/OR/PACU/Day Patient float).
NRP and basic fetal monitoring or AWHONN within 90 days for Women’s Services float.
TNCC within 12 months of hire for Emergency Department float.
BSN degree preferred.
Ability to float to two or more units while maintaining competency.

Responsibilities

Deliver safe patient care utilizing the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
Float RN can be assigned to two or more units based on need and must maintain competency in all units.
Provide direct patient care within scope of practice and guide patient/family teaching.
Communicate with physicians about changes in patient condition and test results; respond quickly to changes in status.
