Job summary

Burlington Stores, Inc. is seeking a Shortage Control Associate to help maintain a secure shopping environment while delivering excellent customer service.

You will monitor entrances, greet customers, and report suspicious activity to protect assets and support store leadership. Responsibilities include engaging with customers, supporting shortage reduction programs, and maintaining confidentiality while working in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, or Operations is preferred.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time and to visually monitor store environment.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to review, analyze and comprehend business trends.
• Ability to exhibit a positive demeanor, strong posture, and energetic greeting.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, high-pressure environment with detailed focus and disciplined decision making.
• Excellent communication with customers and co-workers.
• Excellent leadership skills that support fostering productive business relationships.

Responsibilities

• Monitor store entrances/exits and high-risk areas to reduce opportunities for theft.
• Greet customers with a warm smile and loud, friendly greeting to promote a sense of control and security.
• Identify and report theft incidents or suspicious persons to the Manager on Duty.
• Support training of associates on shortage reduction programs and safety practices.
