Job summary

Burlington Stores, Inc. is seeking a Shortage Control Associate to help maintain a secure, welcoming store environment while delivering outstanding customer service.

The role focuses on monitoring entrances, identifying theft risks, and partnering with leadership to uphold safety programs. Responsibilities include communicating effectively with customers and associates, participating in shortage reduction initiatives, and reporting incidents to the Manager on Duty.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, or Operations is preferred.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time and to visually monitor store environment.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality is required.
• Ability to review, analyze and comprehend business trends.
• Ability to exhibit a positive demeanor, strong posture, and energetic greeting.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, high-pressure environment with detailed focus and disciplined decision making.
• Excellent communication with customers and co-workers.
• Excellent leadership skills that support fostering productive business relationships.

Responsibilities

• Monitor store entrances/exits and high-risk areas to reduce theft opportunities.
• Greet customers with a warm, confident greeting and maintain a visible presence.
• Identify and report theft incidents or suspicious activity to the Manager on Duty.
• Support and train associates on shortage reduction programs and safety practices.
• Partner with store leadership to uphold security standards and protect assets.
